This last two months we have seen a lot of love from local businesses and individuals in our community reaching out with donations and support, both big and small.

We want to send a big thank you to you all for every bit of support, especially leading into the Christmas and Summer period where here in the Mid West we see an increased need for our services, particularly in the area of family violence support and crisis accommodation. Here are some of the donations we have received recently from some incredibly generous and thoughtful organisations and individuals – we are incredibly grateful to you all!

Thank you Arc Infrastructure

Instead of purchasing gifts for their customer’s this year the wonderful team of Arc Infrastructure chose to donate $15,000 to us this Christmas to help us in our work to support and empower those in our community impacted by family violence.

The donation will be put directly to our development of a Women’s Wellness Centre to be opened next year. The site will offer a suite of holistic women’s health services and include a GP and staff to provide support for mental and physical health and family violence counselling and advocacy.

Traditionally Christmas is a time for family and generosity – and we want to extend a huge thank you to the Arc Infrastructure team for your generosity this Christmas that will help us to give hope to the families in our community that are impacted by the devastation of family violence.

Thank you Rio Tinto

The amazing team from Rio Tinto Marandoo Mine Site have made a surprise Christmas donation to our Chrysalis House Women’s Refuge. They presented us with dozens of presents, hampers and gift cards. They all shopped for the items locally as a team building exercise, personally chose each item to give us and thoughtfully wrapped them with care. We are all so overwhelmed and grateful for your generousness and the thoughtfulness of all the gifts.

Thank you Anglican Parish of the Turquoise Coast

We received a donation of $1,000 from the Anglican Parish of the Turquoise Coast to be used at our Chrysalis House Women’s Refuge. Christmas is meant to be a time for celebration and joy, and this donation will go a long way to providing some Christmas hope to the women and children seeking safe refuge with us over this time.

Thank you Woolworths Seacrest

Our kitchen pantry at our Chrysalis House Women’s Refuge was given a massive top up thanks to this thoughtful donation dropped off from Woolworths Seacrest.

The women and children seeking safe shelter with us at Chrysalis House Women’s Refuge are with us because they have escaped from family violence at home and have nowhere else safe to go. We try to provide a homely environment for them the best we can and a beautiful donation like this goes a long way to helping us do this.

Thank you Geraldton Bootscooters

We received a donation of $310 from the wonderful members of Geraldton Bootscooters. They thoughtfully put together 14 hampers of donated goods to raffle off and raise the funds. We will be putting the money towards helping the women, children, and families at Chrysalis House Women’s Refuge that may be struggling through Christmas this year. They wanted to help those that were struggling particularly around Christmas time. At this time of year, every little bit goes a long way to help many people.

Thank you Kids Hub Training & Consultancy

Kids Hub Training & Consultancy dropped in a bag full of kid’s toothbrushes, paste and crayons that we will be able to include in some children dignity escape bags we are currently putting together. The bags are filled with essential living items and will be given to families with children who are escaping family violence situations. Often we think about the adult victims and survivors, but children are often our silent victims.

Thank you Geraldton Art Gallery

The Geraldton Regional Art Gallery recently hosted a ‘Yoga in the Gallery’ evening with all money raised being donated to our development of a Women’s Wellness Centre in Geraldton.

It was a beautiful evening where participants were able to fully relax with yoga and meditation facilitated by yoga instructor Yeni Canalon, in the surrounds of the “Now you see me” women artists in the City of Greater Geraldton Collection.

Thanks you Inner Wheel

We received some beautifully made bathroom bags for our women staying at Chrysalis House Women’s Refuge from the thoughtful members of Inner Wheel Club Geraldton.

The bags were custom made and include toiletries, face-washers and towels. And they will be donating these bags to us on a monthly basis.

Thank you Department of Communities

To mark the 16 Days in WA campaign to end violence against women, the Department of Communities recently held a sausage sizzle fundraiser to support our work that helps victims of family violence in our community.
