Desert Blue Connect has received a funding boost to help Carnarvon parents and children navigate respectful relationships

Thanks to a generous grant from the WA Police, Desert Blue Connect have been able to expand our prevention reach to Carnarvon and will be headed out to do respectful relationships education with the Carnarvon Community College on June 21 and 22.

This will be the first of six trips that will occur throughout the remainder of the year to enable the students to engage in longer term learning and allow us to work with a variety of stakeholders to really embed the program into the community.

Starting in term 3 we will be offering parenting workshops with Ngala’s Parenting Connection to let parents know what their children are learning and to help reinforce the school messages by bringing them home.

We will also begin to engage with PCYC in term 3 to work with a wide range of children in Carnarvon, including those who might not be attending school.

Thanks again to the WA Police for making these trips possible.
