Responding to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We are all facing the ever-changing and challenging implications of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The need for community services has never been greater, and Desert Blue Connect is adapting to meet this need across all our service areas.

The health, safety and wellbeing of our clients, their families and team members is always front of mind. Desert Blue Connect are constantly reviewing and adhering to the advice and measures provided by all levels of government.

Our services are continuing

We are committed to providing our regular face to face services with precautions and screening in place to protect clients and team members.

We understand that some clients may wish to stay at home and keep away from other people. Therefore we have phone or videoconferencing sessions available for the following services:

  • Adult counselling
  • Family violence support, information, referrals and case management
  • Men’s Community Intervention Service

As Chrysalis House Women’s Refuge is a crisis accommodation service, it remains operating as per usual. Please phone first before proceeding to the refuge on 9964 2173.

As circumstances dictate we will continue to adapt to the best of our ability to ensure all services continue providing valuable support to the Geraldton and Mid-West Community.

Our team will still be working

The main Geraldton office at 25 Chapman Road will remain open – with appropriate hygiene and social distancing measures in place. Business continuity will be maintained and our phone lines remain operational.

Some of our team members have now moved to virtual office operations and are working remotely. They are always contactable by email and are working hard to provide up to date and relevant information and resources for our clients, even if it looks a little different now.

We will keep adapting

There is no doubt that there is a lot of uncertainty with many services having to change how they deliver programs on a daily basis. We will continue to provide updates accordingly. We appreciate your support and understanding as we all try to limit the spread of this virus and its impact.

Stay Safe and Stay Well
